Renaissance Kids Inclusive Learning
Every Child Belongs. Every Child Thrives.
Importance of Inclusive LearningOur Commitment to Inclusive Learning
At Renaissance Kids, we are committed to creating a warm, responsive learning environment where children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to grow. We welcome children with diverse learning, sensory, and communication needs, including neurodivergent children and those with hearing, vision, or speech differences. We believe that inclusion begins with understanding each child as an individual.
Our approach is grounded in empathy, flexibility, and collaboration. We recognize that every child’s needs are unique, and support is determined through a thoughtful intake process, ongoing observation, and open communication with families to ensure we can meet each child’s needs in a safe, supportive, and meaningful way.
We believe every child deserves a space to thrive. Our inclusive daycare program is designed to welcome and support children with a variety of needs, such as:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (creating supportive, predictable environments)
• ADHD & Executive Functioning (supporting focus, organization, and self-regulation)
• Learning Differences (building cognitive, reading, and early literacy skills)
• Sensory & Motor Needs (supporting sensory processing and motor coordination)
• Speech & Language Development (encouraging all forms of communication)
• Social-Emotional Development (supporting emotional regulation, confidence, and peer relationships)
• Developmental Delays (meeting children where they are and supporting growth at their own pace)
• Behavioral Support Needs (guiding positive behaviors through consistent, strength-based approaches)
• Cultural & Language Differences (supporting multilingual learners and culturally responsive care)
• Hearing & Auditory Differences (supporting hearing loss & auditory processing by working with speech & language pathologist)
Our Approach
We take a child-centered, strengths-based approach to learning, ensuring all children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Strategies
- Differentiated Instruction – Lessons tailored to meet a variety of learning needs and styles
- Flexible Pacing – Children explore topics at their own speed

- Field Trips – Foster community awareness and make learning fun
- Social-Emotional Development – Intentional teaching of communication, problem-solving, empathy, and self-regulation
Our Sensory Room
A cornerstone of our inclusive learning philosophy, our beautiful sensory room provides children with tools to regulate emotions, calm their minds, and recharge throughout the day.
Features Include:
- Low-stimulation zones for calming and focus
- Tactile and sensory activities to engage different senses
- Supports for self-regulation, focus, and exploration
- Our space is available to all children and seamlessly integrated into daily learning, reflecting our commitment to meeting diverse needs

Our Nest Program
At our school, we offer full-day programs that run until 4:30 PM. The Nest Program, however, is designed for children who thrive in a hands-on, sensory-rich, and adaptable learning environment. This shorter program runs until 2:30 PM, providing engaging experiences each day. With a mixed-age setting, the Nest Program encourages natural exploration, creativity, and social-emotional growth, allowing each child to develop and learn at their own pace.
Our program offers small class sizes and a high teacher-to-child ratio, allowing us to provide additional support. The classroom is thoughtfully designed with a variety of specialized spaces, including access to our sensory room.
The Nest also features an interactive cooking program where children explore math concepts, science, nutrition, and more in a hands-on and engaging way. Throughout the day, we offer flexibility in our schedule, ensuring activities and routines are tailored to meet the unique needs of the children in the class.
The Nest program closes in the summer similar to the Richmond school district calendar.
