Waitlist Procedure & FAQs
Below are some of the common questions we get from prospective families. If you have any other questions, please email us.
Waitlist Procedures
1. book a tour & join our waitlist
Book a private tour between July and January to see our facility and learn about our programs. If you are interested in a tour outside of these dates (our blackout period), please join our annual Open House in February.
Our waitlist is first come first serve, so families can join our waitlist without taking a tour; however, we encourage touring first when possible. Due to limited availability, some families may prefer to join the waitlist before scheduling a tour.
2. Informal MEET & GREET
This brief 20-30 minute informal meeting with one of our dedicated program managers provides an opportunity for us to learn more about your family while giving you a deeper understanding of our school’s philosophy and programs. We carefully assess each child’s needs to ensure they are placed in the most suitable classroom environment.
Please note that not all applicants will be invited to an informal meet & greet, as this step takes place closer to when a spot may be available. Not that this could take at least 1 year.
Our admissions administrator will send you an invite. Please periodically check your spam & junk folders.
3. Waiting Period
When a spot becomes available, our admissions administrator will contact you. Please periodically check your spam & junk folders.
Note that the waiting period can be at least 1 year long. We kindly ask that you refrain from reaching out to the office about your waitlist status. Our admissions administrator manages this process efficiently and fairly, though please note that space is limited.
4. registration & enrollment
Once the opening is confirmed, our admissions administrator will send you an email with enrollment instructions. Families must complete the registration forms and submit a non-refundable tuition deposit equal to one month’s tuition by the deadline stated in the acceptance offer. Families will be contacted TWICE via email before we move forward with the next candidate.
Waitlist FAQs
Our primary intake periods are during the summer and September, with additional openings available randomly throughout the year.
Our Open House is held annually during the first quarter of the year, typically in February.
This is a great opportunity to explore our programs and meet our educators.
If you were unable to schedule a private tour before joining our waitlist, this would be an ideal time to visit.
While there are no fees to join our waitlist, once a spot becomes available and is confirmed, the application fee is a one-time payment of $350.
Our procedures are different because we prioritize creating a unique experience that meets the specific needs of our families. By taking the time to assess individual needs, our procedures ensure a higher level of efficiency and satisfaction. Ultimately, our goal is to deliver the best possible results while maintaining transparency and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Renaissance Kids offers programs for children aged 12 months to 5 years old.
Each program is designed for specific age groups.
No, once you’ve put your child on the waitlist, they will be automatically moved to the next program if they didn’t receive a spot in time for the original program you were interested in.
For example, if you applied for Explorers Program (1-2yrs old), your child will automatically be on the waitlist for our Discoverers (2-3yrs old), Illuminators (3-4yrs old) and Virtuosos Programs (4-5yrs old).
We do not disclose waitlist positions. Please refrain from contacting our office for this information.
If your child is not accepted for the upcoming school year, they will remain on the waiting list until a spot becomes available, or until they age out of all our programs. Please note that the waiting period can be at least 1 year.
When a spot becomes available, the next applicant on the waitlist will be notified 1-2 months before by email. Please check your spam and junk folders regularly.
Upon acceptance, parents will receive an email with details for our Online Enrolment Portal, where all required forms and supporting documents must be submitted along with the tuition deposit.
If we attempt to contact a family twice over two consecutive years and do not receive a response, the child will be removed from the waitlist. We strongly encourage families to update their contact information and check their spam/junk folders regularly.
Admission is based on multiple factors, including availability, age group placement, and program fit. Priority is generally given to siblings of current students, alumni and staff children.
We do not offer direct financial aid; however, families may be eligible for government childcare subsidies. We encourage parents to explore available assistance programs through their local government.
For further inquiries, please contact us at info@renaissancekids.ca. We look forward to welcoming your family to Renaissance Kids!
While it’s easy for people to mistaken a waitlist to be solely based on chronological order, please remember that with daycare waitlists we are dealing with different age groups and programs. So if someone received a spot before you, but joined the waitlist after you, chances are your children aren’t the same age, and the other program had a vacancy, but your program is still full.
Also, please note that priority is generally given to siblings of current students alumni and staff children.
Outside of these circumstances, we take our first come first serve policy seriously and honour it with integrity.
